RESYMBOL is an
incredibly versatile tool for either modifying the appearance and
characteristics of MicroStation files, or checking and correcting these files
(a QA/QC tool). The modifications which are possible are many and varied. Bulk
change levels, colors, or weights. Scale text or cells. Replace cells. Rotate
text or cells. Merge reference files. The list goes on and on. If this tools
can’t make the changes you need, GDM Software promises to consider adding
the capability for you!
RESYMBOL’s functions QA/QC can be broken
down to three separate parts.
- Specifying the standard: Your drawing standards are embodied in
a “rule file”which is needed to run many of GDM’s other Quality
Control programs. The rule file can be created in many ways. They can be
imported from ASCII, created from a sample file, created graphically, or enter
them in the dialog box.
- Checking and Changing: RESYMBOL can check almost all of the
things it can change, and a powerful interface is provided for specifying the
corrections.
- Documentation: Do the QA/QC, and have the documentation to
prove it was done. Compliance to the standard can be easily shown. The
processes run on each file are documented, and this documentation can even be
directed to a database for greater convenience on large projects or in busy
