When files are displayed, the elements are drawn in the order they occur in the file. While MicroStation does have the capability to change the order that reference files are displayed, this capabiltity does not extend to the elements within the file. The last elements drawn are on top of the earlier elements, and filled or heavily weighted elements can obscure elements all ready displayed. The ReOrder and BatOrder utilities will rearrange the order fileso it displays as you want. BatOrder does batch reordering of elements based on element type and (for element with area) the size of the element. Text will be on top, then cells, then linear elements, then shapes

ReOrder is interactive, allowing you to pull specific elements to the front, or to push selected elements behind others. It can also be used to swap the order of specific elements. Best results will usually be achieved by first running BatOrder, the using ReOrder to make any minor changes which might be required.
