We are pleased of announce that after an exhaustive
evaluation process, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation has given
first place to the GDM Software QA/QC tools for MicroStation. Negotiations are
now underway on the contract to provide these QA/QC software tools and related
services.
Among the features of GDM Software’s QA/QC tools which
led to its selection are:
- A drawing creation process/system which is driven by the
Standard.
- QC tools which, as well as validity checking, provide computer
assisted proofreading,
- The licensing arrangements which will allow NHDOT to distribute
copies of the QC tools to any and all consultants who do work for them.
In the future, all consultants submitting files to
NHDOT will be able use these QC tools to show that the files have been checked
and that they comply with the NHDOT Standard. These QC tools are intended for
use throughout the drawing creation process, by the user (drawing creator), so
that the user can benefit from the feedback. A quick and simple report when the
files are submitted is all that is necessary to confirm compliance.
The QA/QC system for New Hampshire DOT will be modeled closely on the system
which has been deployed over the last three years for Florida DOT. Experience
in Florida, where checking with these QC tools is mandatory, has shown that
rather than being a barrier to productivity, the GDM Software QA/QC system has
actually improved production by significantly reducing the time spent on
drawing checking.

This month we are featuring Ref_Edit. Do you work

With Ref_Edit make that change quickly and easily!
The commands in this tool bar work on any file you
have write access to. The V8 version has been recently
expanded and enhanced.
