National A/E/C CADD Standard QA/QC

GDM SOFTWARE CUSTOMERS CAN NOW COMPLY EFFORTLESSLY WITH NATIONAL A/E/C CADD STANDARD
GDM Software announces the implementation of QA/QC for the National A/E/C CADD Standard for MicroStation users. (A project is underway to extend the implementation to AutoCAD users, and results are expected within 2 months).
The National A/E/C CADD Standard is the result of a joint effort among the AIA, NIBS and the CADD/GIS Technology Center. This has resulted in the definition of a level/layer structure, with defined colors, line styles, etc., as well as content definitions for 99 "drawing types" (e.g., "Architectural Floor Plan" is a drawing type, as is "Architectural Elevations, Exterior").
GDM Software has created "rule files" for all 99 drawing types, at two levels of compliance. These rules work with the very powerful CompleteQA tool set. GDM Software customers now have the option to place elements in perfect compliance with the National Standard without ever having to refer to the standard itself! Users can also check that design files conform to the National Standard, and quickly and easily correct any non-compliant elements.
A demo is available at www.gdmsoft.com. Download a sample exercise based on the Architectural Floor Plans. The exercise contains two rule files, two sample drawing files, and three software tools for MicroStation that let users do two different types of standards checking for the most complete QA/QC available. A special "Training" help file walks users through the checking of the two sample drawings.
